PERFORMANCE
Subaru Legacy

There’s more to impressive performance than just raw power—it all depends on how you use it. Both models bring plenty of oomph to the table. You'll find that only one of them, however, has superior skills on slick streets and around tight turns that will give you more control when it’s needed most.

Engine Power

Each sedan provides two choices when it comes to what you'll find under the hood. It all starts with a similar 4-cylinder base engine that delivers over 180 horsepower in both models. They’re also both paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission, which helps provide a smooth performance and maximum efficiency.

The optional engine with the Subaru Legacy is a 2.4L turbocharged SUBARU BOXER® beast. When you’re driving with this powerhouse, you'll have a maximum 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque at your disposal. The optional powertrain of the Accord falls short with just 204 horsepower.

Control and Traction

Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) comes standard with the Legacy. This dynamic drivetrain delivers torque to each wheel as needed, which comes in handy when road conditions shift. On straight and even surfaces, you’ll experience smooth acceleration, while on wet or otherwise imperfect streets, the system provides added traction. The Accord, on the other hand, is only available with front-wheel drive.

INTERIOR
Subaru Legacy

The interior of a sedan needs to have a little bit of everything. Comfort? Check. Convenience? Check. Connectivity? Check. The Subaru Legacy and the Honda Accord are off to a good start. Let’s see how they compare.

Space to Stretch

Both models offer seating for five and plenty of wiggle room for all with just over 105 cubic feet of passenger space. The Subaru Legacy, however, gives you more ways to relax with an available 12-way power adjustable driver’s seat. The Accord is only available with a 10-way power driver’s seat.

Connected to the World Around

An expansive touchscreen display puts a world of connectivity at your fingertips in either model. They give you command of systems like:

  • Apple CarPlay®
  • Android Auto™
  • SiriusXM®
  • Bluetooth® audio streaming

When your favorite song comes on, a premium sound system is available with both the Legacy and the Accord. They feature 12 speakers that will envelop you in the beats and melodies of your favorite artists. The only difference? The Harman Kardon® system of the Legacy features a GreenEdge® amplifier, which provides optimal sound with minimal energy consumption.

SAFETY
Subaru Legacy

Driver and passenger safety is always a priority when it comes to selecting your next car. That’s why driver-assistive technologies are such a game changer. These systems run in the background to keep you covered in a variety of situations. Luckily, both the Legacy and the Accord come standard with a litany of safety systems. How do they compare?

Smart Safety Tech

The EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology and Honda Sensing® suites of driver-assistive technologies give you extra assurance on the road. They each come with several similar features designed to help keep you safe and secure during your drives. These include:

  • Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Pre-collision Braking
  • Lane Departure and Sway Warning
  • Lane Keep Assist
  • Automatic Emergency Steering

High Beam Assist also comes standard with either model. This system automatically toggles between high beams and low beams, so you can see everything even on the darkest road while also being courteous to passing drivers.

Stay Focused

When it comes to helping keep everyone on board safe and secure, the Legacy is built to satisfy. The available DriverFocus® Distraction Mitigation System warns you when you appear to be distracted or fatigued. That way, you’ll know it’s a good idea to pull over and take a break. The Accord doesn’t offer a similar feature.
